    GRASS-FED TALLOW BALM

You put lotion on at 8am. By noon your skin feels tight again.

That keeps happening because most moisturizers are mostly water. They sit on the surface, then evaporate. This is a dense, waterless balm built on four ingredients your skin already knows how to use. One jar covers face, hands, split knuckles, and cracked heels.

    Grazewood Barrier Repair Tallow Balm
    Why Grazewood

Four Main Ingredients, All Of Them Working

Most balms in this category pad the label with things that sound like skincare. Ours is built on four, and every one of them has a job. Here is what each does and why the format matters as much as the list.

Nothing your skin has to translate
Your skin builds its own oil out of oleic, palmitic, and stearic acid. Grass-fed tallow is built from those same three fats in close to the same proportions, plus the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Plant oils have a different architecture, so your skin works around them instead of using them. Petroleum has no architecture at all.
Four main ingredients, each with a job
Tallow rebuilds the barrier. Olive oil thins it enough to spread. Beeswax seals it in. Raw honey holds moisture. Nothing is in here because it looks impressive on a label. The full ingredient list is printed on the jar, where you can read it before you open it.
Waterless, so it is all lipid
A lotion is mostly water, which is why it needs a stack of chemistry to hold together and why it stops working an hour after you put it on. There is no water in this jar. Nothing evaporates off, and what you are paying for is balm rather than the water carrying it.
    Dense, never whipped
Whipping is how a jar looks bigger than it is. We do not do it. This is solid in the jar and melts the second it touches skin. 100g at $9.07 an ounce, compared against competitors by weight rather than fluid ounces, because fluid ounces are how air gets sold as product.
    One jar instead of six
Face cream, hand cream, body lotion, lip balm, aftershave, and whatever tub is at the back of the cabinet for the bad patches. One jar covers all of it. At daily use that works out to roughly 30 cents a day, and most people are still on the first jar two months later.
    Buy it once, no strings
One-time purchase is the default and there is no box pre-checked to enroll you in anything. Refills are optional, discounted, and cancel in one click. Try the whole jar for 60 days, and if it is not for you we refund it without asking you to mail back a sealed one.

The three things people ask before they buy.

Won't animal fat clog my pores?
Honest answer: it depends on your skin. Tallow is high in oleic acid, and if you are oily or acne-prone, a dense balm on your face may not suit you. We are not going to tell you it works for everyone. What we will say is that pores clog on lipids the skin cannot process, and tallow's fatty acid profile closely mirrors what your skin already makes, which is why most people who react to everything else do fine with it. Start at night, start small, and use it on hands and heels while you find out. If your face is not the right home for it, the rest of you still is.
Is it going to smell like beef and leave me greasy?
This is the question everyone actually wants answered, so: no. Badly rendered tallow does smell, which is why most people's first experience with it is bad. Properly rendered tallow smells like almost nothing, faintly nutty at most, and there is no fragrance or essential oil in here covering anything up. On texture, it is dense and it needs a second to warm between your fingers, then it melts in rather than sitting on top. Use less than you think. A pea-sized amount covers a whole face, and it will not transfer onto a pillowcase.
Why is it $32 when raw tallow costs a few dollars?
Because raw tallow is not this. Raw tallow is greasy, hard to spread, inconsistent between batches, and it will absolutely smell if it was rendered hot and fast from mixed trim. Getting to a balm that spreads, seals, holds moisture, and smells like nothing takes proper rendering and a ratio that took real work to land on. And if you would rather do it yourself, you can. It is a weekend of sourcing, rendering, straining, and jarring for something that lasts a few months. The better comparison is not raw fat, it is the six products this replaces. At daily use, $32 works out to around 30 cents a day.
    Why nothing has worked
You didn't fail. You were sold something that was never built to fix it.
    Prescription
    steroids
Shut a flare down fast, then stop working. Skin thins, and coming off them is its own ordeal.
    Suppresses, not repairs
    Petroleum
    ointments
Seal water in and nothing else. No fatty acids, no vitamins, nothing your skin can build with.
    Covers, feeds nothing
    Drugstore
    lotions
Mostly water, which is why they need emulsifiers and preservatives, and why they sting broken skin.
    Gone in an hour
    Plant oils
    and butters
Natural, but built from a different fatty acid architecture than your skin. It has to work around them.
    Sits on top

Most tallow balms sell you air.

Whipping is how a small jar looks generous. It also lets a brand quote fluid ounces instead of weight, so you never quite find out how much balm you bought. Then the jar runs out in three weeks.

    Grazewood Barrier Repair Tallow Balm

    We sell it by weight.

Dense, unwhipped, and measured in grams so the comparison is honest. Here is what the rest of the category costs once you price it by what is actually in the jar.

    JarSizePricePer oz
    This one 100g / 3.53 oz $32.00 $9.07
    Typical unwhipped balm2 oz$22.95$11.48
    Anti-aging tallow balm1.7 oz$24.95$14.68
    Tallow and honey balm2 oz$30.00$15.00
    Whipped tallow balm1.7 oz$34.95$20.56

Figures reflect publicly listed prices for comparable products at time of writing. Compared by weight rather than fluid ounces, because volume measurements do not account for whipped air.

One jar, six places it goes.

People buy it for one problem and then find the rest. Here is where it usually ends up.

Cracked knuckles and fingertips The splits that reopen every day at work all winter. Put it on after washing and again before bed.
Face, at night A pea-sized amount on damp skin after washing. No fragrance, nothing to react to, no film on the pillowcase.
Heels and elbows Work it in at night, socks on after. The dense format is the point here.
After shaving Straight on in place of aftershave. No alcohol, so nothing stings freshly scraped skin.
Windburn and chapped lips Cold, wind, and dry indoor heat. It stays put rather than wearing off in twenty minutes.
Dry, irritated patches Soothes and comforts skin that reacts to almost everything else. Four ingredients, none of the usual suspects.

    60 Day Returns

Try the whole jar. Sixty days.

Open it. Use it on your hands, your face, your heels. Work through the jar and give it a real trial, not a patch test on the back of your wrist. If it does not do what you hoped, email us and we will refund you.

No hoops. No review process. No guarantee that asks you to mail back an unopened jar to get your money.

That last line is not a throwaway. Brands in this category advertise long guarantees and then require the product to come back sealed in its original wrap, which means the guarantee only covers a jar you never opened. That is not a guarantee, it is a technicality. Ours does not work that way, and the full terms are on the returns page rather than buried in a footer.

You have already spent enough on things that did not work. This one you get to actually test.

    Frequently asked questions

How long does one jar last?

Most people get two to three months out of a jar using it daily on their face and hands. If you are using it head to toe, or sharing it with someone in the house, closer to six weeks.

The reason it goes further than you expect is that it is not whipped. There is no air in it, so a pea-sized amount covers a whole face and a fingertip does both hands.

It arrived rock hard. Is that normal?

Yes. It is solid at room temperature and firmer in winter or if it has been sitting in a cold delivery van. That is what an unwhipped balm does.

Scrape a small amount with a fingernail and hold it between your fingers for a few seconds. It melts on contact with skin. If your house runs cold, keeping it near where you get dressed rather than in a chilly bathroom helps.

Does it need to be refrigerated, and when does it expire?

No refrigeration. Keep it out of direct sun and away from a radiator. If it melts in a hot car it is still fine, it will just set again with a grainier texture.

There are no preservatives in it because there is no water in it, and bacteria need water. Use it within about twelve months of opening.

Can I use it on my kids?

It is four food-grade ingredients with no fragrance, essential oils, preservatives, or emulsifiers, which is why parents tend to find their way to it.

We are not doctors and we are not going to tell you what to put on a child's skin. If your child has a diagnosed condition or is under a doctor's care, ask them first. Patch test a small area either way, as you would with anything new.

Is there any honey allergy risk?

There is raw honey and beeswax in it. If you have a known allergy to bee products, this is not the right jar for you.

It also contains beef tallow, so it is not vegan and never will be. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out at the door.

Can I wear it under makeup or sunscreen?

It is a dense balm, so most people prefer it at night and use something lighter in the morning. If you do want it under makeup, use a very small amount and give it five minutes to settle.

It contains no SPF and does not replace sunscreen.

    How long does shipping take?

Orders leave our Florida warehouse within one to four business days, and typically arrive within five to seven business days after that depending on where you are.

Free tracked shipping on orders over $50. You will get a tracking number by email as soon as it ships.

Am I going to get signed up for a subscription?

No. One-time purchase is the default and there is nothing pre-checked at checkout to enroll you in anything.

If you do want refills, they are optional, discounted, and cancel in one click without emailing anyone or getting on the phone.
